Impermanent loss isn’t always permanent.

In long-duration liquidity pools, volatility generates fees over time. If the pool later recovers, those accumulated fees can offset the earlier divergence.

If the pool then exceeds its prior value, what began as impermanent loss can resolve into net appreciation — impermanent gain.

Impermanent loss (or gain) only becomes permanent when liquidity is withdrawn while price divergence exists. Until then, it remains unrealized.
